Maintaining her artisanal spirit and Victorian-inspired silhouettes, Ulla Johnson created for FW20 another successful collection enriched with a new line of opticals and an extended line of jewelry and accessories that support her vision. Many of the jewelry items have been made in collaboration with Kenyan women’s collectives in a very sustainable way. This brand is totally a great hope for the American fashion industry. Braided and wavy hairstyles with a middle part were greatly combined with 80s silhouettes featuring puff sleeves or shoulders and ruffle skirts. Bold shades such as magenta, citrine, turquoise, and purple were absolute mood-lifters. Nomadic prints align with the artisanal, bohemian flair of the collection. High-waist tapered pants are definitely of the moment. We loved the textural quality and 3D effect of certain fabrics such in the crochet and floral cloque pieces. The vintage feel in most outfits equals eclecticism and preciousness.
