“Two in a Gondola” creations by Elena Pavlou, looked odd at first sight but loveable a few minutes later. I needed some time to digest the kind of style promoted here. The show that took place during Athens Xclusive Designers Week, in the end convinced me that a serious job has been done back and out of stage. Even the makeup, a masque-like blend of dark colors, left food for thought. The main issue was volumes, geometry and interaction with space. Colors were clean and basic, off white and black in the first place and there was much futuristic, sober tailoring on this effort. Nothing playful. Just deep concern about the forms and simplicity as a mood. Though I’m still puzzled, I think I liked it!
Μας μπέρδεψε λίγο η συλλογή “Two in a Gondola” για την Άνοιξη 2010 αλλά στο τέλος άφησε ως υποθήκη σχέδια που θα μπορούσαν να εξελιχθούν και να δώσουν ένα ξεχωριστό ύφος!
