Description: Βoho Deluxe, Boho Glam or Retro Bohemian. “Βohemian” comes from the French word “bohemien” meaning gypsy. This look peaked for first time during the 70s. We love it this season (Fall 2010). It’s ultra comfy and… sexy! You don’t need to spend lots of money on it. You can recycle your items in many different outfits.
Muses: Mary Kate Olsen in 2007, Kate Hudson in “Almost Famous” and Ali Macgraw in “Love Story”.
New elements: Modern cuts (more fitted), sequins, furs and colorful jewelled accessories.
Tips: Don’t wear all your boho-inspired pieces together, JUST one or two paired with simple basics.
Highlights:
– Multiple layers of sheer asymmetrical or soft fabrics. Chiffon, tulle and crocheted lace get casual.
– Combination of different textures, embellishments, colorful prints and metallics.
– Oversized sweaters over the bohemian-inspired dresses.
– Florals, Asian-inspired or muted animal prints, and paisleys.
– Kimono sleeves, loose tunics and dolman tops.
– Lightweight/fringed scarves, cross-body hobo bags, combat boots and many hats.
– Lots of denim (and not just as jeans).
– Bell bottoms with platform shoes.
– Brocaded military coats.
