New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2021 – LBV Redefines the 70s Superstar Look

Glamour is an attribute that tends to be innate. People drawn to stardust are also into fabulous clothes. This LBV FW21 collection by Creative Director Elizabeth Kennedy, presented digitally at the NYFW is made for the unapologetically glamorous! It was inspired by the musicians and artists who electrified the 1970s. Paying tribute to style icons of the decade such as Donna Summer, David Bowie, Cher, and Bianca Jagger, the collection paints a colorful palette of electric blue, chartreuse, canary yellow, and rich metallics.

A retro multicolor stripe is showcased in metalized knitwear and as a beaded gown, à la ultimate muse Diana Ross. High gloss patent leather is patchworked with smooth nappa to create complex geometric textiles manipulated in form-enhancing cuts. The patchwork concept is translated into sapphire crystal beading in a stand-out gown. Feathers and sequins evoke disco-glam energy, and a classic houndstooth pattern is modernized in suits and jersey. Sleek silver hardware completes the refined, structured suiting and outerwear. Rewinding a half-century, FW21 is evocative of the colorful lifestyle and icons of that era, translated into present-day through bold impact daywear and evening attire for lighting up the night.
