New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2021 – Jason Wu is Inspired by Coca-Cola

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Coca-Cola, a global pop-culture symbol, Jason Wu created a FW21 collection that hinted at a sought-after return to simple things and normality. It was presented inside a general storefront that was initially empty and for the purpose of the slow filled with all the products that a deli would include such as grocery, flowers, and lots of wine. A simpler perhaps version of the legendary Karl Lagerfeld’s Supermarket show. It seems to be one of the two NYFW events that were planned this season as a socially-distanced physical runway show with a limited number of guests. Vibrant reds, checks, Coca-Cola-themed prints, cozy sweaters, and roomy silhouettes, brought back cheer among attendees, a very special moment for those who experienced it. The designer’s double affinity for great silhouettes and finest quality materials was coupled with the idea of comfort expressed through familiar normal-life staples including Coca-Cola and a colorful bodega concept downtown NYC, on Broadway street. These printed pieces sound like bestsellers already! Every single piece screams happiness and convenience in the middle of a hard but promising winter…
