Just look how technology has made our fashionable lives easier! If you can’t, you don’t have to be there. You simply have to be online! In the quest to bring Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to people around the world, YouTube and Maybelline New York will once again deliver the excitement and energy of the runway by presenting live streaming fashion shows on YouTube’s Live from the Runway channel at www.youtube.com/liverunway. Going online September 1st, and with live shows starting September 8th, the fully-loaded channel will keep fashion fans completely up-to-date with show schedules, backstage beauty looks, interviews, trends and how-to videos – all with a few simple clicks.
Fashion and beauty lovers will be invited to join the conversation by logging into the site, via their social media network of choice, and commenting with the hashtag #LiveRunway. New this year, fashion enthusiasts can watch the shows wherever they may be with a newly added mobile live streaming feature accessible at m.youtube.com/liverunway. Recaps and archived fashion shows will also be available on the mobile channel between live streams.
“Our involvement in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is broadening with each season – especially from a digital perspective,” said Kristen Yraola, Assistant Vice President of Digital Marketing & Media for Maybelline New York-Garnier-essie USA. We’re excited to give consumers everywhere the chance to not only see, but engage with the beauty and fashion trends as they develop – right off the runway.”
YouTube is the world’s largest entertainment platform where people enjoy the largest selection of videos and collaborate with others to create a unique viewing experience. This collaboration offers Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and its designers access to the world’s most engaged audience. YouTube is the #1 entertainment site on the internet with 40 million unique viewers per day in the United States alone. Fashion and beauty is an explosive category with hundreds of thousands of subscribers and millions of video views.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to bring designers show’s to a much wider audience via the world’s number one destination online for video content,” said Christina Neault, Executive Producer of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. “We’re excited to work with YouTube and Maybelline New York to promote the event and its incredible roster of shows.”
