Julianna Bass Gets Inspired from Berlin!

Sporty, minimalist chic, tailored, color-block, androgynous, severe and romantic, luxe, retro-futuristic, and wearable are key-words defining the Julianna Bass FW15 collection presented during New York Fashion Week to a cool crowd of industry insiders and fashion-savvy people.

The city of Berlin was a major source of inspiration for the womenswear collection. Though the collection stays true to the brand’s trademark mix of edgy details and classic silhouettes, the influence of Julianna’s Berlin migration is evident in the whimsical combination of luxury fabrications and quirky, original graphics.

Berlin is a hard city with a rough past, but through its struggle comes this sense of freedom with much beauty and depth to be discovered.

The collection channels a unique blend of playful elegance through a classic, tailored lens with topcoats, dresses, suiting and separates and carries this theme across a wide range of garments, from boyfriend-fit Italian wool slacks to elegant floor-length gabardine skirts.

Combining T-shirt toppers with classic tailored bottoms and incorporating artsy, surreal printed depictions, she created looks younger than expected and easy-to-adopt by a wide range of personalities. Most of them were accessorized with slip-on sneakers or pointed-toe high heels, to further stress the urge for educated simplicity and artistic eclecticism.

Hair and makeup were definitely giving an edgier vibe with sharp details. Most of the fabrics, in a very interesting palette of navy blue, bronze, nude, purple and orange, were shiny; yet this shine was smartly appealing to the eye. There was a hint of modest glam that should characterize our daily outfits, reinforcing the trend for urban-looking, effortless elegance!

Love!!!
