The sudden transition from sandy to jewel tones, can be paralleled to the transition from the desert to the oasis, which was Ports 1961 Spring/Summer 2011 collection’s main concept. Elegant cloths in flowing/shiny fabrics, full of smart drapery and well put details reassure the brand’s inclination towards simplicity, comfort and femininity. Belts in neutral colors were an important addition for many coats and dresses while one-shoulder tops and dresses prevailed. Earthy tones were enriched by details with metallic shine or vivid colors such as bright purple and grass green. There were also pieces with sequined embellishments. That was Fiona Cibani’s debut, who was backstage for a long time assisting her sister Tia – former Artistic Director.
