With stockists in Sydney, New York, London, Miami, Beverly Hills, Toronto, Canada, and flagship stores in the first two cities of my list, Australian fashion designer Johanna Johnson seems to be holding the secret to decadent glamour with a universal flair that appeals to fashionistas in more than one continent.
During her show in NYC, she presented her Starlet Collection which is dominated by decadent, hand-beaded embellishments on timeless, elegant silhouettes. Featuring deep vintage ivory satins, muted tones of wedgewood blue, and unexpected statements of French navy and scarlet throughout, she nods to 1940s Hollywood sirens, the art of heirloom dressing, and the elegance of bygone days.
“This collection is a detailed approach to unrestrained luxury, with a modern take on contemporary bridal,” said Johanna Johnson. Studying meticulously the collection, I had a clue on why her dazzling opulent gowns are so much coveted by luxury retailers (Browns, Neiman Marcus etc.) and A-list celebrities (Madonna, P!NK, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep, Christina Hendricks, Kesha, Felicity Jones, even Princess Charlene) all over the world. I can’t deny that one of her dresses would be the ideal outfit for this Holiday season festivities. Shall I add it to my wishlist?
