Watching Chara Lebessi’s fashion show, we realized that the designer dresses her chic clientele the way she dresses herself. There is a great consistency between her personal behind-the scenes style and her catwalk looks. Most pieces in this Spring/Summer 2011 Collection were very cute, sexy, simple and elegant, without irrelevant details and extraordinary accessories that could have spoiled the harmony. Searching for unconstraint classiness, she confined herself into the realm of basics such as nudes, black and white. Her monochrome pieces are smooth and edgy at the same time, borrowing elements from the 60’s and the 70’s, mixing them up with a futuristic approach and putting them down to wearable fashion. Her fabrics, light but not transparent, were perfectly moulded into mini A-line and maxi mermaid silhouettes that attracted the attention and satisfied the quest for femininity. Chara’s love for dresses was epitomized in pieces enriched with smart draping and subtle frills. Most of them were either strapless or had three-quarter sleeves. Overall, we really enjoyed this show at AXDW!
