Vassilis Zoulias, a par excellence perfectionist in fashion design, presented a few hours ago a wonderful Spring/Summer Collection 2011 full of color and femininity. Inspired by the French cinematography during the 60’s, he reinvented this playful style Brigitte Bardot and other beauties incarnated at that period. Sexiness rendered in a sophisticated manner and translated with luxury fabrics amazingly tailored was the main point. It was a surprise to me, finding among the other colors of the palette daring red, that one which made Bardot stunning in the movies. I loved this red, being a part of a S/S Collection! I think that Mr Zoulias made a difference with it. I also liked the plaids, the wide stripes and the polka dots. Most dresses were belted in a characteristic 60’s style, something that made the silhouette even more impressive. There was also an interplay between patterned and one-color pieces on the same dress, an idea aiming at the accentuation of a specific part of the body such as the bust or the waist. Another charming detail was the matching hair bands in some of the looks. Among my favorites from the show was the light yellow dress with the black belt and the ultra chic wedding gown. Not too much, not too little. Just marvelous! The catwalk was the main event of the Charity Gala Dinner that took place today at the Ballroom, Grand Bretagne Hotel in Athens. The money from the tickets are going to help children suffering from diabetes at a such early stage in their lives. Famous photographer Calliope as well as columnist Christina Politi were present with their husbands and seemed to enjoy the creations presented by Mr Zoulias. I am tempted now. I need that light yellow dress and I am just looking for the right occasion!
